Book of Dead is Play'n GO's Egyptian-themed adventure slot starring explorer Rich Wilde, and it's one of the most copied "book" slots out there.
Quick facts - Provider: Play'n GO - Released: January 2016 - RTP: 96.21% (top version; casinos can run lower versions, so check the game's info screen) - Volatility: High - Layout: 5 reels, 3 rows, 10 paylines - Max win: 5,000x your bet
How the bonus works The Book symbol is both the wild and the scatter. Land three or more anywhere and you get 10 free spins. Before the round starts, one regular symbol is picked at random to be the expanding symbol. During free spins, that symbol expands to fill its whole reel whenever doing so creates a win, and it pays even when the reels aren't next to each other. Three more Books during the feature award another 10 spins.
The 5,000x top prize comes from the Rich Wilde symbol being chosen as the expanding symbol and covering all five reels. The base game is fairly plain, with most of the value in the feature. There's also an optional gamble feature on wins.
Worth knowing / watch out for - High volatility means long dry spells between bonuses are normal. Size your bets for that. - The expanding symbol you get makes a big difference. A low-paying symbol can make for a quiet bonus. - Real-money play is only available at licensed online casinos in states that allow it. Check your casino's lobby for availability.
