Live betting (also called in-game or in-play betting) lets you bet after a game has started. Odds update constantly based on the score, clock, possession and momentum. You can bet spreads, totals, moneylines and props that adjust in real time.

Worked example (college football):
  • Before kickoff, Team A is -7
  • Team A goes down 14–0 in the first quarter
  • The live line might flip so Team A is now +3.5 at -110
  • If you still think they're the better team, a $110 live bet on Team A +3.5 wins $100 if they win or lose by 3 or less
What's different about live betting:
  • Markets suspend. Books lock betting during key moments like scoring plays, reviews and penalties. You'll see bets "suspended" or rejected a lot.
  • Delays. Your TV or stream is often behind the live data books use, so the line may move before you see the play.
  • Higher margin. Live markets often carry more vig than pregame lines.
  • Odds changes on submit. Some apps ask you to accept new odds. Check your settings so you don't accept worse prices automatically.
Good habits: - Have a reason before the game starts (for example, "if the favorite falls behind early, I'll look at their live line") - Avoid betting every possession. Live betting is fast, and it's easy to overspend - Use your book's deposit and time limits

Do you bet college games live, or stick to pregame? Any situations where you think live lines overreact?
