If you're asking whether your gambling is a problem, that's worth taking seriously, and you're in the right place. Help is free and confidential, and you don't have to hit "rock bottom" to use it.

Common warning signs
  • Betting more, or more often, to get the same excitement
  • Chasing losses: trying to win back what you lost
  • Lying to family or friends about how much you gamble
  • Borrowing money, using bill money, or maxing out cards to gamble
  • Feeling restless or irritable when you try to cut back
  • Gambling to escape stress, sadness, or boredom
  • Missing work, school, or family time because of betting
Where to get help
  • National Problem Gambling Helpline: 1-800-MY-RESET (1-800-697-3738). Call or text, or chat at 1800myreset.org. This became the national number on January 29, 2026, and the old 1-800-522-4700 still works. It can connect you with help in your state.
  • In crisis or thinking about suicide? Call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or call 911 if you're in immediate danger.
  • Gamblers Anonymous: free peer support meetings, in person and online. Find one at gamblersanonymous.org.
  • Self-exclusion and app limits: see our self-exclusion thread in this forum.
