Short answer: it's legal on paper but not live statewide yet, and there is no confirmed launch date.

What the law does - Gov. Tony Evers signed AB 601 (enacted as Wisconsin Act 247) on April 9, 2026. - Only Wisconsin's 11 tribes can offer online sports betting. - Bets can be placed from anywhere in the state, but the servers must sit on tribal land. This is the same "hub-and-spoke" model Florida uses with Hard Rock Bet. - Commercial brands like FanDuel or DraftKings could partner with tribes, but would not hold licenses of their own.

Why you can't bet from your couch yet 1. Each tribe has to amend its gaming compact with the state. 2. Those amendments need federal approval from the Bureau of Indian Affairs. 3. The tribe then has to build or contract a statewide platform.

What you can do today - Bet in person at tribal casinos that offer sportsbooks. - Use the Oneida Nation's mobile app, but only while on Oneida property near Green Bay. - Minimum age is 21.

Industry trackers expect the first statewide apps in late 2026 or 2027, with the Oneida and Potawatomi seen as best positioned, but nothing is confirmed.

Wisconsin members: which tribe do you think launches first, and would you use a tribe-run app or wait for a big-brand partner?
